			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>The University of Waterloo Accounting Conference will be held May 4-6. The event includes a case competition as well as networking sessions and keynote speaker.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The theme for the conference is “Defining the Future”, which refers  to financial planning and how organizations use budgeting and costing to  set attainable goals. Our keynote speakers for 2012 feature David Denison, President and CEO of CPP Investment Board, and Karen Maidment, Board of Directors of TD Bank Group and Former CFO of Bank of Montreal.  Delegates have the exclusive opportunity to participate in 4 workshops,  run by Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst &amp; Young, and PwC.</strong></p>

KPMG is bringing a group of associates to assist DeGroote accounting students in improving their case writing skills! In addition, they will be bringing one of their very own UFE groups so they can give DeGroote students advice and assistance for those who plan on pursuing their CA designation. This workshop is not only for those who plan on pursuing their CA designation but rather any other designation as well since case writing is a vital competent of every designations testing curriculum.</p>

We have a lot planned and it would be beneficial to know ahead of time roughly when each event will take place so you can accommodate each event that interests you accordingly with your schedule. In addition, our Executive Team will be there for brief introductions and networking in case you would like to be a part of our Executive Team next year! Applications will start to be accepted at the end of February.</p>
<p>There will be free pizza and pop for those who attend! In addition, attendees will receive a stamp on their membership card so you can get closer to achieving your Participating Member Certificate which firms now recognize!</p>

Student who have already taken  the class and done well will be there to go through questions and help  those who attend. There will be a wide variety of questions and if there  is a topic that you need assistance on the student volunteers will  gladly assist you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is a reminder to all members about our Participating Member Program and for those who are unaware of it. Every time you attend a DAA event, you will receive a stamp on that back of your membership card. If you receive 5 or more, you will receive a &#8220;DAA Participating Member Certificate&#8221;. It will be the member&#8217;s responsibility to email us notifying us of your achievement once all 5 stamps have been collected.</p>
<p>This program is intended to distinguish and recognize those members who want to be more involved with the club. Firms are beginning to recognize this program since it is our second year running the program so it would obviously be a great thing to put on your resume!</p>
